Let me start by saying art is in my blood. My mother is an artist with a sculpture in the Reagan Presidential Library and my father is the current director of the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art. See what I mean, there was no hope for me! However, my father's life, before he became a director, was that of an Air Force Colonel. I have always said that military kids are like story tellers because we have lived so many lives. One of my favorites was the four beautiful years we spent in Germany. It was then and there that I began to shape my concept of what is beautiful and a personal aesthetic that would follow me to this day. It's not often that you get to go to school in Holland, have school ski trips in Austria and then spend spring break in a Chateau in the Loire Valley. Not bad, I know! And let's not talk about the fact that I had to move to Oklahoma after that.

Since then, I have fallen in love with the colors of Matisse, the looseness of Rothko, and the fascinating life of Frida Kahlo. I am also obsessed with the world of haute couture and high fashion. Tom Ford is as much of an idol in my eyes as Michelangelo!
